This book is 4 years old, but i took it with me to madrid 2 weeks ago. I went to a lot of the recommendations, the first food pick was terrible, but the others were good. Yelp might be better as a food guide based on dietary needs. I found the museum list to be generally good, if time is limited stick to the prado and renia sofia, for the love of god just pay admissions, don't stand on a 1 hour line to get in for free. Buy the 3 art museum pass 31 euro buy at renia sofia or thyssen-bornemisza to skip the line at the prado. The metro pass day passes are worth it to avoid wasting time buying individual tickets, buy at airport metro upon arrival there is never a line for that machine. The recommended espadrille shop, #1 pick, is definitely worth shopping at, it was my only purchase.The pickpockets in Madrid are really annoying. 3 times in Madrid pickpocketed 2 times, and caught them in the act both times (women working in groups). Carry less stuff, no backpacks, and close on you. Pretty sure they have look outs on the street, or the police are taking kickbacks, because they are never scared or run when caught. Don't let this stop you from going or having a good time. This is not the same thing as getting mugged or shoot at in USA, both of which I have gotten to experience or being harassed to death in Luxor.

Make Ahead Meals is exactly what I've been needing. Our family has committed to helping one of our friends rehab after a stroke. We go to his home after work, which puts us home after 7 each evening. By the time we get to the business of preparing our evening meal, we are worn to a frazzle. We have actually been talking about doing something like this, but had no idea as to how to make freezer friendly meals that we could just pop into the oven.This handy guide plus recipe book has invaluable information that everyone needs before attempting to prepare meals ahead. I guess I thought that it would be as simple as making a favorite dish and putting it in the freezer to be eaten at a later date. Not so, according to this instruction book. The guide tells us how to shop for these meals, how to prepare vegetables, meats and fruits before freezing and it also gives excellent tips on the different types of packaging for the freezer.I looked over the recipe list, and was impressed with all the different types of one-dish meals that can be made ahead of time and frozen. My favorite dish of all time is Chicken Pot Pie, and wouldn't you know there is a recipe in there for this mouth-watering dish. I've also got my eye on the Lentil-Rice Stew with Turkey Sausage.Great book on the subject. Highly recommended!

If you don't know anything about freezing food, this book offers some great tips. Unfortunately, I found the recipe selection lacking. I was also disappointed that this book appeared much longer than it actually was. At around the 9% mark it switches to a book about ADHD. That was a bit strange. Also, I was hoping for more ideas for foods that could be taken directly from the freezer and popped in the oven. My need for freezer meals is for those nights where something unexpected occurs and you need to come up with another meal idea on short notice. I don't know. I was just hoping for more from this book.

I am a busy mom with a log commute to work every day. By the time I get home at night I don’t want to spend a lot of time preparing dinner. This book has some a nice variety of recipes I can make on the weekend and freeze to then eat during the week. There are instructions for how to prepare and store foods to freeze. So far we’ve tried the Mexican quinoa and the mud pie, both tasty. As a bonus I’ve found that shopping to make meals ahead of time saves me some of those last minute grocery store trips too.
