I recently purchased this book in spite of the many bad reviews here. I am glad I purchased it.It is true that it is difficult to find words in this book because of it's organization into specialties. However, as a student, I find this is a great learning tool. As I hunt for a word, and discover it not where I thought it might be, I discover other words, or discover that I was mistaken about what word I've heard. On the other hand, it is also true that there are words that aren't listed, but that's to be expected in a book of this scope. If this book were expanded about 1000 pages, it might be perfect.However, it has helped me enormously in my studies. I would guess that I will stop using it much after I get a job, and move on to specialized word books, such as any in the Stedman series, after I know what I need. After all, there are 843 pages in the very thorough Stedman's Medical & Surgical Equipment word book alone. But as a student, I'm not about to buy all the Stedman word books just yet.In the meantime, I would highly recommend this book, along with some common sense, a medical dictionary, and the internet, to any MT student.

I've been an MT for 20 years, the last 4 at home, and used the 3rd edition fairly frequently, so really looked forward to the 4th. However, for all its increased number of pages, it leaves a lot to be desired. Just yesterday when looking for a specific brace, checked "brace" in ORTHOPEDICS AND SPORTS MEDICINE where I was told to "see appliance, orthosis, prosthesis and splint". At appliance, I was told "see also prosthesis". Orthosis and splint actually do have lists of specific items -- but not the one I was looking for. That's just one example, but I have encountered several entries like it. I guess I'll just stick with my old, falling apart 3rd edition.

This book has a ton of medical words. I have been in the medical field for a long time, and this book is really helpful. I have a feeling, if it isn'ti in here, you probably won't need that word.

I have been a medical transcriptionist since 1973. That is when I first started using my first MEDICAL WORD BOOK, by Sloan. I just received the newest edition of this book. Having words categorized by different body systems makes it much easier and quicker to use. Also, I have found words in there that I could not find in other references, because I knew what system of the body it would be in. I have many other references at my fingertips and if I had to choose only one to be on my desktop, this would definitely be it!!

Best book I could have purchased for the purposes I purchased it for.

I found the content very helpful in working with Access 2010--however, I'm unable to open a few forms (frmContacsPlain) (so far), for example, within the Contacts database-but I keep getting an error regarding the path.The error points to a "c" drive (shown below)-but it's not on my PC-there's something on CD that forces PC to look there.I've contacted the support for book: "Microsoft Access 2010 Inside Out", but so far (it's been almost a month since I've emailed them) and this is the last response: "I'm sorry still no updates yet. I think they are having a hard time finding the author's team that worked on this book."I've also downloaded the files from their site: from https://www.microsoftpressstore.com/store/microsoft-access-2010-inside-out-9780735626850 - and the error persists.After about a month, I received a reply from Book support for book: "Microsoft Access 2010 Inside Out" [Incident: 151124-001242]. I have the step-by-step instructions to fix the issue above. It's in a Word doc format; can't figure out if I can attach anything here--but willing to send if anyone else experienced this issue. Happy New Year.Anyone else have this experience?

The book is very comprehensive. I have not read through the complete book as yet, however, the big advantage is that you can go to any section/subject and get the in depth information you require at any particular time. The information is also very clear and delves in great depth into each subject.I especially like the complete samples of various database(s) as well as samples and code where applicable on the companion CD. With the CD you have the ability to load all these items onto your computer and make the references available at all times.The greatest asset on the companion CD for me is the PDF file of the complete book. As I get older my eyesight is not like it used to be and I have trouble reading many books and periodicals. Having the book on PDF format makes it very easy for me to read.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.

I love to purchase books that are perfect reference books to help with computer programs. This book is perfect for those who are learning how to use Access. This book is long in length but that is no reason not to purchase this book. It is filled with lots of information on the ins and outs on how to use Access and I keep this book in my desk library collection daily. The table of contents are great as they lead the user directly to the subject matter section that the user may be looking for. I recommend any Microsoft user to add this book to their reference collection!

I am a fan of the Inside-Out series. This, like the others, has a great deal of information in it.The one drawback is the complete lack of information on using Access with "normal" websites. It goes into a great deal of explanation about using Access with SharePoint, but fails to mention that the Access Services is not a feature of SharePoint Foundation, just Enterprise. I might have been better to move that information into the CD or publish another book on integration of SharePoint and Access.Indeed, you can use Access with SharePoint Foundation in some limited manners, but that is not addressed. Providing that information would have been useful. The reader then would have been able to continue the exercises in the book and learn a little about SharePoint integration. As it is, if the reader does not have access to SharePoint Enterprise, they might as well skip a whole section of the book.And, I am sure, that there are a lot of web designers that would like the information as how to incorporated the web features of Access into standard .NET (ASPX) websites. This is covered in the 2003 version of the book for Active Server Pages and could have very well been upgraded in this version to ASPX pages. I do not know if this was covered in the 2007 edition, it may have, but I do not want to spend another $38 to get a few Chapters.

My wife is taking an access class and needed an adequate supplement to her textbooks. This book provides all of the info she needed that the textbooks didn't provide. This book works for 2013 as well as 2010.

Jeff Conrad has an easy writing style and this book borrows very heavily from the 2007 version, but updated with 2010 related material. It is probably the best Access guide on the market and the examples are well thought out and have good depth.There are extra chapters on the CD that are not in the book, and these are invaluable.Highly Recommended.

love this book but wish it contained the cd , that's what you get when ordering used even though most of the files are online I think the online source is missing something.
