you have to really read through this book a few times so that you can grasp all the concepts presented here. I was one of those persons whose help was really in a crucial state I'm finding this book was the diamond in the rough for me and it saved my life and my gallbladder. I have a wonderful side effect I dropped 100 pounds within a year and I am feeling much better than I have in a very long time. some of the food in here might be time consuming but once you learn how to do it it really doesn't take much time out of your busy life at all. And in my opinion I would rather spend more time preparing my food in a healthy manner learning to sprout grains and seeds soaking my beans thereby making my body and healthier place to live in so I am indeed grateful for this book and I share it with everyone who asks me to help them with their health.

I got this book on Kindle after having the flu this year, to boost my immune system back up, Her information is good but some of her topics are not well researched, such as the Eastern Traditions, she mentions, and has no clue about, I do think that the raw fermented foods are a good thing, and the fermented beverages are also, she does a lot of promoting of her ...way too expensive products, also in my area buckwheat bread is no where to be found, which she promoted a place in CA that sells it. I also took her test on line and they sent an e-mail to me with the results and said I had a severe case of candida, so I thought wow, I have never had any of the symptoms nor ever been treated for that, but... I thought maybe I was missing something, I bought the book, then took the same test in the book, same answers, and turns out I am in the LOWEST range for having that problem, another scam, I do believe that her book would help people who REALLY have this issue, but don't scam me. Now...some of her info is factual, and I do drink fermented probiotic drinks and I do eat fermented foods, and I do believe that they are really good for you, which is what her book is really all about, she also is an avid promoter of stevia, and she does have good advice for candida, but I do it for my health and have for a long time now, I also checked out the prices she sells her products for, WAY TOO Expensive!!!! look around in your area health food and grocery store, you can get the fermented veggies and drinks (Kevita sells good tasting drinks) for about a fourth the price. The book it's self is good, but read with open eyes.

I read this book cover to cover and follow the Program religiously. I feel better, have my energy and stamina again. No more bloating and stomach issues. I’m regular without meds. I look great and lost a lot of weight. It’s a lifestyle though not a diet so it’s not a quick fix. After 6 months of following it’s become who I am. I’ve started getting others to try as well. I don’t have swelling in my joints or aches and pains any more either. This is how everyone should live!!

This book contradicts many things and it is a 'business manual" for body ecology products. I read this book half way and just threw it in a corner. This book is simply a manual for all of body ecology products and how to incorporate them into your diet... I wouldn't recommend this book . I found the GAPS book by Dr.Natasha Campbell very well informative.

This is a great diet for digestive health. I started it about 5- 6 weeks ago and have seen an increase in energy, moods regulated, and have lost 11 pounds. I still have low energy days, but I feel like it will take time to heal my body from years of unhealthy eating. Cutting sugar from my diet has curbed my food cravings dramatically and made it much easier to stick with.

I found out about this book through a raw blog. A guy described his battle with candidiasis. I didn't realize that guys could get it and I never realized that candidiasis manifested itself in a spectrum of ways that I suffered from. I purchased this book and spend about 2 weeks reading, studying, and highlighting the book. I started the diet last Monday and I have to admit that the book has become my bible just because it's been a huge change for me that I continually have to refer back to the book. I photocopied a couple pages of the book to carry around with me and use as a reference when I'm out and I have to figure out what I can eat.I used to be on the raw food diet, ate organic and healthy and I was still experiencing a low immune system, breaking out, and a chronic yeast infection that I've had for over 5 years. I've tried treating the yeast infection with antibiotics, a watered down hydrogen peroxide douche, and boric acid suppositories. None of the treatments stuck. My yeast infection returned with in a day or two of stopping the treatment. If I ever had more than one day a week of an early work day, I came down with a sore throat.I'm so ecstatic to report that this diet has cured me of my yeast infection. I can't believe it.It was difficult for me to return to cooked foods because I loved the principles of the raw food diet, but being cured of the yeast infection has made me a believer. Obviously my body wasn't receiving the nourishment it needed to heal itself.I gave this 4 stars only because the book is a constant advertisement for her products. I realize that a person needs to make a living, but I felt like it was a little overkill. If you do a Google search you can find other ways to make cultured vegetables without using her starter kit. I use 1 liter of water to 2 TB sea salt and pour it over a mixture of chopped veggies and let it sit on my counter for 7 days. So far, it's worked great. I also purchased water kefir granules 2 years ago from an online shop that only sells that and they are still healthy and creating wonderful drinks. I will eventually use them to make cultured coconut water.I went through some crazy sugar withdraws during this first week. I felt like I was a drug addict. That has been the most difficult part of this adjustment. Teas with flavored stevias (specifically vanilla cream) and my recipe for homemade healthy kettle corn has helped me greatly.

This isn't a "real" book, and even though it only cost $6 I returned it to make a point. This is ~30 lightly written pages, that include plenty of lead-in for you to hire the author's lawfirm to get your case settled. 99.9% of business put these as free information / PDFs on their website so they can lead-in additional business. This information definitely belongs online and free.And TBH it's not that helpful - very very high-level, something a non-attorney should also know.Do I think you should read this if you've been in a personal injury accident? Probably you should start off with something like this, but it doesn't even scratch the surface. And if you need to hire an attorney, they'd go through this entire "booklet"'s information probably in the first 30 mins.

There is virtually no useful information in this 25 page booklet. It's more of an advertisement for the author's lawfirm than anything else. Waste of money.

Book is not a how to guide. A very quick read, giving you basic information. Book lacks useable detailed information.

This short discussion gave me the basics I needed to understand injury claim settlement. Easy to I derdta d. I appreciated the to-the-point approach.

This seems to be a promotion piece for a law firm. Gives some basic information, but designed to get you to call and hire their firm. They are probably very capable, but I was really looking for more detailed information. This book is OK, but you'll buy other books to get a better idea of how the process works.

Free web searches would have given more info. I feel the booklet was a print commercial for the attorney who wrote it.

When it comes to the issue of God and Evolution, people can generally be divided into three categories. There is a small but loud minority of creationists who define God in such a way that leads them to reject the Theory of Evolution. There is another small but loud minority of atheists who believe (note the word: "believe") that, because scientific evidence has not (and, indeed, cannot) prove that God (however defined) does exist, then God doesn't exist. The third group is the proverbial "silent majority" who accept science and still believe in God. Unfortunately, one reason this majority is silent is that most of them (I should say "us" because I fall into this category) lack both the scientific and theological background to form arguments in defense of thier beliefs. To them I recommend "Responses to 101 Questions on God and Evolution" by John F. Haught.Prof. Haught, like the authors of the thirteen previous volumes of this series, responds to the questions most frequently asked of him by those to whom he's taught and lectured. So, these are the questions that readers of this book are most likely to ask. The book starts with Darwin and Evolution explaining it and affirming its validity. The author also gives a full-throated rejection of Creationism and as well as attempts to integrate a crestionist view with cherry-picked scientific data (e.g.: Intelligent Design).Much of the book, though, is concern with the theological implications of Evoultion. The important thing to remember is that empirical evidence, upon which science relies, can answer a very limited set of questions; the existence of God is not one of them. Therefore, to reject the existence of God based on a lack of empirical evidence proving God's existence is just as illogical as rejecting the empirical evidence that proves Evolution. Thankfully, John Haught is here to help us deal with the clowns to left of us and the jokers to the right.

I read this book for a college class on religion and science. If we hadn't had to read the entire thing I probably would have anyway. Once I got into some of the questions I just couldn't put it down. The questions and responses are so real and in your face that it really starts you thinking.

Very well written. He has obviously read widely and taught well in theology and the relationshipof theology to the sciences.

John Haught is one of my favorite authors. He is clear, any intelligent person should be able to follow him. Anyone interested in God and the universe should be aware of John Haught's insight and mature viewpoints.

It was great. I received it sooner than expected.

Theologian John F. Haught gives brief answers to 101 questions about the relationship between the Christian God and evolution, in which he explores an unusual middle path between creationist opposition to science and materialistic interpretations of the evolutionary process. Haught's stance is that evolution, understood in even the most robust Darwinian sense, is exactly the process we would expect the Christian God to institute in order to create life. Die-hard creationists will not like this book at all, and materialists (like me) will find Haught's reasons for rejecting a materialistic interpretation of evolution completely unconvincing (though he is certainly right to point out that the data does not interpret itself), but those who believe in both God and evolution will find many new and stimulating lines of thought in this book. All in all, although I disagreed with Haught's stance, I appreciated watching such a deep thinker work through such a novel position.

Apparently reviewer Haines doesn't know much about this series or its INTENDED audience. This is NOT a book of Christian Apologetics written to convince Atheistic Materialists of the existence of God (Haught's "Is Nature Enough?" is written more for that purpose, at least for showing the INADEQUACY of the "Scientism" of a Dawkins or a Dennett), so it shouldn't be judged as such.THIS book is published as part of the "Responses to 101 Questions" series from Paulist Press, a well-known Catholic publishing house. As such, it is written for INTERESTED, INQUIRING, LAY CATHOLICS (though Protestants should like it too), and so, for example, "proving the existence of God" is irreverent to the nature or goal of the book. Reviewer Haines is apparently UNAWARE of the series, and so, for some completely wacky reason becomes obsessed with Haught "writing his own 'softball' questions." The book was written for practicing Christians who are not scientists and who are wondering about things like, "Will Studying Darwin turn my son or daughter into an atheist?" "Is Darwinian Evolution compatible with Christian faith?" "What's wrong with 'Creationism' and Intelligent Design theory, and why is 'Whiteheadian Theistic Evolution' a BETTER option?" "How can contemporary Christians understand divine action in a world full of (what appears to be) random events and horrible animal suffering?" And so on. To this end, I personally found ALL the questions to be just the sort that the INTENDED audience would want answered. (And in this context, by the way, "citing Church Fathers as authorities" is a PERFECTLY acceptable move, not "a bad start," as Haines suggests.)Haines (and, for that matter, most of the so-called "new atheists")also seems COMPLETELY oblivious to the goals of MOST 20th and 21st century theology, namely to keep theology CURRENT by reflecting,adapting, and revising TRADITIONAL theology in light of insights from our CONTEMPORARY understanding of the world, as revealed by the biological, physical and social sciences. This is NOT, as Haines suggests, Haught "trying desperately to find God 'somewhere'," but simply a realization of the "historicist" nature of theology (Ancient and Classical theology was based on Ancient and Classical worldviews; Contemporary theology is based on CONTEMPORARY worldviews.) For Haught, Arthur Peacocke, David Griffin, John Polkinghorne, Ian Barbour, Gordon Kaufman, Karl Peters, and others, this means developing a "Theology of Evolution," or an "Evolutionary Theology." Why keeping one's theology CURRENT should be thought of as an "act of desperation" is beyond me! Why practicing Catholics should think the vision of an ANTI-Religious, Atheistic Materialist biologist like Dawkins is BETTER than the "integrated" vision of a Science-loving Catholic Theologian like Haught is also beyond me!Haines like to toss around the "S" word ("Supernaturalism"), but if reviewers like him ever BOTHERED to read any contemporary philosophy of religion (such as David Ray Griffin's "Re-enchantment Without Supernaturalism" -- note the title!), he would know that Haught's theology can IN NO WAY be considered "supernatural." In current Science and Theology dialogue circles, the term refers NOT to "ontology" (what "exists") but to "causation." A "supernatural" cause is one that "arbitrarily intervenes" in the world's "natural" causal processes. Since most forms of Theistic Evolution argue that God works THROUGH evolutionary processes, NOT over-against them, it's hard to consider these theologies causally "supernatural."(The "ontological" question may be of "central" importance to Haines and Dawkins, but the ontological question RARELY comes up in these discussions, since, frankly, there is NO established science that studies WHETHER something exists "beyond" the universe, MUCH LESS what that "something" might be. One of the hallmark themes of the series is dealing with misunderstandings and facing reality. It’s a common problem in relationships, romantic or not. A person can either choose to ignore and pretend it doesn’t exist or try to understand the situation and discover a more definitive answer. Enter Ritsu Onodera, a former 25 year old literature editor at his father’s company thrown into a girl’s manga publishing department in a similar position, who fell in love in the past with a senior classmate that turned sour for him and ultimately jaded his perception of love and romance. On the opposite end is Masamune Takano, the 27 year old editor in chief of Marukawa Publishing and Onodera’s boss whom over a period of time revealed himself to Onodera’s as his first love from the past. As their relationship reignites, they discover that one of the prominent issues that caused the wedge between them in the past was the lack of proper communication which resulted in misunderstandings that later in the series Onodera blames partially on teenage stupidity.A bulk of the first volume itself sets up the setting, the major character in the Marukawa Publishing shoujo department, and some backstory about Onodera and Takano from Onodera’s perspective. The author takes the time to develop the characters and while also explaining with side segments terminologies common in the manga publishing industry (type setting, proper toning, a manga artist typical work set up).Both main leads are likeable and do have a touch of realism. Onodera is initially stuck in the past in a sense that he A) wants to prove himself as bigger than what he’s seen due to former workers at his father’s publishing company labeling as nothing more than a coat tail rider B) is still jaded by the belief that Takano treated their relationship in the past a joke which he misunderstood. Essentially he's stuck in quarter life crisis, however, even with those anchors he’s grounded when it comes to work and tenacious in that to him it’s not a matter can or can’t but just doing it. Takano from the little details unveiled from Yokozawa (and later in the manga you find out more) that he had a troubled past pre and post initial breakup with Onodora, however he is very fair and intelligent in his decision making despite lacking tact. Although not obvious initially, he’s very caring towards Onodera at work in his own way by pushing him to succeed (since that’s what Onodera strives for) even if that meant overworking him. The author does a great job fleshing and developing the characters.If you’ve seen the anime, it follows the first episode few episodes except with more dialog in some instances along with explanations about terminology which in the anime explained itself at the end of the episodes during the previews in a very fast paced dialog usually done by Onodera. If you’ve previously read the manga this release does provide a full translation of additional pages, so it’s definitely worth a second read. For those that never read or watched the series there is sex, but it’s done in a tasteful manner where it’s not thrown in out of nowhere. As always Nakamura does a great job with the art. There’s usually build prior to the act.I was very happy Sublime licensed the series and finally able to have a physical copy. If you enjoyed Junjou Romantica then you’ll enjoy Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. The manga is very character driven and focuses on developing the characters. Highly recommended.

The author of Junjou Romantica brings you yet another amazing story of love with The World's Greatest First Love. Set in the same world as Junjou you won't be disappointed. It's about meeting a first love again ten years later when both people have changed in many ways, some due to their first relationship. I won't give anything away except to say that if you love BL, sappy funny love stories then you absolutely have to read this one. I've watched the anime version of this story more times than I can count, I practically know it by heart but the manga brings you deeper into the story and shows you scenes that weren't in the show. It is 18+ for Explicit content though so be prepared for that.

Ritsu Onodera quit his job at the publishing firm run by his father after his frustration final boiled over at not ever being considered for his own merits. He ends up at Marukawa Publishing working on the shojo (comics targeted at teenage females) magazine Emerald which is run by Masumune Takano, also known as Ritsu's first love and the person that Ritsu blames for making him into a jaded adult. Their relationship was a short lived one that ended dramatically based on misunderstandings 10 years prior. The main story in this first book sets up their relationship and their new dynamic as the combination of boss-subordinate as well as love interests. The last chapter is a look back on their original relationship.What's great about this story is that you get multiple levels. There's straight-up knowledge of how manga publishing works, then there's the humorously exaggerated view of the work life of the editors, the romance between two people who hurt each other deeply in the past and are struggling to come to terms with their new dynamic, and lastly there's the comparison of the storyline itself to a stereotypical shojo romance. Sometimes the comparison is fairly obvious with comments made by the characters. Sometimes it's more discreet like with the introduction of the maidenly heartthrob panel only to be shown later in the chapter with sarcasm instead of sweet words.The book itself has a nice color plate at the front. Nakamura's artwork is a nice blend of beautiful and humorous with some incredibly detailed backgrounds especially at the publishing house. The translation of the work is well done. It keeps the usage of -san and a few other terms which preserves the feel of a Japanese publishing house without overwhelming a western reader. Some of the sounds effects took a bit of getting used to as they were shortened versions with the vowels removed. Sex scenes are present though relatively tame. Takano is also fairly forceful with may not appeal to some.

At first i feared this series was never going to be released but when it did HALLELUJAH!!!! I absolutely love this series while it can get a bit *cough cough o///o * anyway its got a great storyline to it. I especially love how the mangaka behind this series took a more realistic approach by choosing a normal everyday life scenario and demonstrated how hard life can be when trying to find a balance between your personal life and work. She also shows how difficult it is to try and deal with forbidden love between two men in three different stories with ukes Ritsu Onodera, Shota Kisa, and Chiaki Yoshino and their potential love interests Masamune Takano, Kou Yukina, and Yoshiyuki Hatori.

Fabulous series! I can't wait to read the next book! I love this author and her plot lines are wonderful! My only request would be that the publisher continue publishing her other series, Junjo Romantica! Why did they stop!?! Shungiku Nakamura is such a highly respected and known author and I hope to continue seeing this series being published along with her other works!

This is a really special book about Chinese medicine, suitable for both students and practitioners. It will give you new and deeper insights into what you have learned in school and/or experienced in the clinic. It is beautifully, written, illustrated and printed, and nearly literary in its descriptions of the meridians, zang fu and points (with some great stories about China thrown in to give you a flavor of where this medicine comes from). In short, this book was clearly written with heart. While there is plenty of practical information about channel palpation included in this book, you'd really need to take a hands-on workshop to understand how to use that. However, I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is one of the treasures on my bookshelf that I'm sure I will return to again and again as my own perspective develops and changes.

I've got lots and lots of books on acupuncture and have studied and practiced lots of different styles and I have to say that this is by far the most impressive book that I have read on channel theory. Channels or 'meridians' are surprisingly not very well understood by many, if not most, acupuncturists. The fault is really not their own as there is really not much in-depth written on them (in English at least). This book examines the channels thoroughly and gives many useful clinical and diagnostic insights that you will not find in the required texts in school. Dr. Wang Ju-Yi is a treasure and the co-author who has translated and summarized his work is genius. God bless them both.The book is not just another dense text of channels and points like the rest. It is mixed with artfully told stories, informative Q&A's, and brilliant insights and theory into channel anatomy and physiology. I especially liked the discussion on the 8 extraordinary channels and the San Jiao and how they are in many ways synonymous with the extracellular matrix. Using these associated points was a big breakthrough for me clinically before reading this and now I know why. Understanding and linking the ancient terminology and theory with the modern scientific understanding is key for the future of acupuncture and I am glad to see the authors give it due attention.I hope, for the sake of those entering acupuncture school in the near future (& their patients), that this book very soon becomes THE required text. This and the Deadman text are really all that are needed to study and learn channel theory and acupuncture anatomy in school. (BOARDS: Please dump CAM already!!)

If the title doesn't suggest the seriousness of the topic, the casual reader should first be warned that this is actually a textbook on classical Chinese acupuncture written in a relatively lively and unconventional manner. It is not for casual reading and it is very heavy on authentic TCM theories which are often not applied when practising acupuncture in the West. Though a lot of points are mentioned and even a bit of point location technique is featured, this is not an atlas of meridians and their acupuncture points. For serious students of authentic Chinese acupucnture, it's simply one of the best and most detailed English-language books on the meridian or channel theory.In a style similar to Huangdi Neijing, the book features "conversations" between master and apprentice. There are also snippets on interesting encounters inside and outside clinical practice in China, giving the reader some social and cultural insights into the country where TCM originated.The book covers basic TCM principles from an acupuncturist's perspective. Instead of covering the zang and fu organs on their own, the book, pairs organs according to channels and discusses them together. For example, taiyin channels and their related organs, lung and spleen are covered under the one chapter. The shaoyin organs (heart, kidneys), jueyin organs (liver, pericardium), taiyang organs (bladder, small intestine), shaoyang (gall bladder, triple burner)and yangming (large intestine, stomach) channels are likewise paired and discussed together. This offers a unique perspective to our understanding of organ and channel "physiology".The book also goes into details on channel "physiology", transport points, point selection, needling techniques etc. The most distinguishing feature is the use of channel palpation to identify nodules and other abnormalities along a channel to pinpoint the organ involved. This emphasis on organ differentiation technique sets this book apart from most other TCM books which dwell on 8-principle differentiation based soley on observation, smelling, asking and pulse taking.It takes a lot of time and re-reading to digest the material here, but once the reader has grasped the principles, it will greatly improve his/her understanding of the complex theory behind acupucnture.

Fills in the missing link between theories recorded in classic text and clinical observation. Unlike western medicine where theory dictates the direction of studies and trials which lead to the development of clinical guidelines, chinese medicine flows the opposite way, clinical observations points the direction of possible theories and slowly over time and generations/dynasties, theories develop. Hence it is not surprising that these theories often contradict each other causing pain and suffering to chinese medical students. This book delivers a possible missing link, suggesting probable mechanisms linking theories and clinical observations. This is by no means the only explanation, nor the best, but much like quantum electrodynamics, more than one theory can deliver the same result either way. Good read for students of chinese medicine.
