The second recipe has an error saying no pepper in the recipe and 2 different salt measurements. Then in the directions it says add salt and pepper but how much since the recipe was in error? Many of the recipes do not call for liquid to be added and I am sure you will get a burn error. Not happy with the cookbook. My wife did not like lack of pictures.

This is a very comprehensive weight watchers instant pot freestyle cookbook. It includes delicious weight watchers freestyle dishes along with valuable information of the Weight Watchers program approach of diet. I hope you must find this book useful. I would recommend this book to any individual who wants a through.

I must not be looking at the same book as all of the positive reviews. I agree with another reviewer that mentions some recipes in metric and some not. There are a fair amount of WW Freestyle recipes, but some only state Smart Points, which is the old plan and point values can be different from Freestyle. Plus, there are two sections with recipes that have no point values and don't seem to be WW friendly. These sections are the "Five Ingredients Desserts" and "Snacks and Appetizers". I thought the whole point of the cook book was to provide healthy recipes where the point values were provided. No photos are a disappointment also. Will consider returning this book.

Some recipes are in metric, but not all. Too many of the instructions are unintelligible. For example, one recipe calls for "broccoli paste," and "carrot paste." ( I presume this means puree) And, then there is this instruction, "When time is cooked, let cooked, let the dish cool little and serve." The careless attention to the writing of these recipes means that I will not be using this cookbook.

My company was the first to release Julian Lennon's No. 1 Hit "Day after Day" for Internet only distribution. Six of my patents are currently in relicense to a diverse group of hi-tech companies including, Microsoft, Apple, Sony, Valve, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Zynga, Audible, Intuit, Symantec and MacroVisio. Once read never forgotten. This is going to be one of myfavorite books of all time. From the first chapter to the lastthe author kept me wanting one more page. Sure there arecats in this book and after 260 pages even I wanted to geta couple for my family. But this is a story of sweet romancebetween a man whose adoration for Alice comes throughon every page. It is a story about an actual auto trip thecouple took with their two cats. Along the way they stop andmeet unusual and interesting people. They take the cats intorestaurants to dine with them. At one place in Austin theirfat cat, Tuffy, jumped onto the bar and knocked thechicken carbonara into the other diner’s lap. They even wentto my favorite restaurant in New Orleans called Clancy’s. I lovedthe part about meeting Jim Carville. My favorite part of this bookis when the author meets Alice for the first time. She had a spywho thought the author was two timing her. This part actuallymade me cry when I found out the truth. And of course thereis the secret. Alice had a big one alright and boy I cannot waitto find out what happens in the second book. I don’t know ifthis book is a romance story or a travel and dining story or aninspirational story. I guess it is all three and more. My favthis year.Ingrid Appleby

As someone who has visited Louisiana many times—eaten fried alligator in the Atchafalaya Swamp, danced at Tipitina's, and second-lined in Professor Longhair's funeral parade—I didn't think I would learn very much from "Dining and Driving." Plus I'm a dog lover rather than a cat lover. But Alice's thorough research and Pat's sharp eye for telling details, and their uncanny ability to encounter memorable locals like Chenier father and son, and the professor-turned-bartender at the Carousel Bar, make for riveting reading. Although I might be inclined to argue with the author on the importance of the Battle of New Orleans and on the difference between creole and cajun cooking, I will definitely be re-reading the sections on bourbon and zydeco music (which somehow seem to naturally fit together) before my next trip to the region.

Of all the activities in business, sales is the one which forces us to confront who we are and what we are willing to do for money. emphasizes the need to ask questions and understand the prospect’s needs, then to use that information to present the benefits that will catch the buyer’s interest. Hopkins places constant emphasis is on prepared presentations, conscientiously planned. He analyzes basic needs, how to know product and prospect, who to sell, what to sell and what to tell; he lays out a program for a positive approach, ways in which to give a verbal picture, and how to stay away from argument and bluffing. With that said, Hopkins defines the most desirable attributes of the salesman; personal enthusiasm, self-confidence, understanding of people, belief in his product, and he concludes by outlining some approaches which apply to any sales problem. I bought the Kindle version to make it easy to read and reference w/ my tablet when I'm traveling. I already had the hard copy and the audio versions. It's another Masterpiece by the Master of Sales Training. Every salesman should read this book. It's that good. You'll easily make a 100 x return on your investment in this book. I have. It's great for beginner's and for pros, too.

I really enjoyed this book - unlike many sales books, its heavy on actual 'how to' and not another 90% filler fluff 10% meat sales book. I have noticed some saying this book is 'out of date' - it is in fact from the 80's and some of the jargon / styling is in fact out of date, but the principals and tactics still work because humans haven't changed. It's kinda like being critical of "The Body Language Bible" simply because it was written back in the 70's and has dated looking pictures and black and white photos - that's crazy. Body language is still the same!The chapter on Questions is worth the price alone. Many sales books gloss over over this while Hopkins deep dives into many types of questions, when to use them, their psychology, etc.

This book really answers a lot of unanswered questions for me. I have read this book multiple times. My only complaint about this book is somehow someway my friends steal this book from me when I'm not looking. The last copy I got I literally glued black construction paper over the cover and hid it on my bookshelf but somebody found it and stole it too. This is my 5th copy and this time I'm going to glue an exercise book cover to it, nobody like exercising, so maybe the 5th time is the charm.

This is a sales classic. I have read dozens (if not more) books on sales. Not many, or maybe none, get better than this. This book goes so in depth about everything sales related, it's crazy. This is almost like the Bible on sales. Read it cover to cover a dozen times inside of one year, I guarantee you'll be a six figure earner, no matter what sales you're in. Amazing book! A MUST for all salespeople.

I am an original owner of the cassette program and workbook. After 15 years I've updated it to the CD version. Tom Hopkins is a master seller. The Kindle version is so I have the information close at hand when needed. Tom offers excellent suggestions, memory items and phrases, gives many examples of how to use the suggestions and memory items, and this a an excellent backup on Kindle.

There are a lot of good things about this new book. First, this is a very good authoring team. They have a deep (both correct and very up-to-date) understanding that spans the technical aspects of data analytics, and how and why analytics is used in business settings to make business oriented decisions. Second, the book is well crafted. It is very well organized with very clear and to-the-point explanations. Of the five authors of this book, three of them (Shmueli, Bruce and Patel) have been together as a text writing team since 2007, and this is the 5th time they have updated and revised their business analytics text based on new developments in the field, and based on ongoing feedback from faculty and students who have used the text in both academic courses and professional training courses. Third, because this team has been deeply involved in data analytics for decades, they have a good sense of perspective. They understand the history and evolution of models from the statistics community, as well as the history and evolution of models from computing communities spanning both data mining and machine learning. The lead author, Galit Shmueli, has been publishing in both the statistics literature as well as the management science literature on the differences between explanation (and inference) versus prediction. This depth of perspective, and technically correct understanding of these important nuances, are reflected in how the material in this book is organized and presented. Fourth, they provide a unified and coherent approach to understanding these models. They have major sections on classification models and prediction models. They also have sections on time series forecasting, association models, and clustering. In each of these sections on model and application specifics, they draw on the appropriate models from across the communities of statistics, data mining and machine learning. In addition, the book contains sections on the front end (data prep, exploration, and dimension reduction), as well as on the backend of the modelling process (model evaluation). All examples are worked out in R.The specific chapters on each data analytics modeling method are relatively short and to-the-point, as there are numerous textbooks and professional books on every one of the individual methods covered in this text. Because these authors are now in their fifth iteration of the content, and because they get a lot of feedback on what users of this material do and do not clearly understand, this authoring team has a knack for adding special explanatory material for those things that people tend to not understand well, or often misunderstand. While the chapters on each method are by design brief and introductory, they are solidly sufficient and highly informative, even for people with prior background in these methods. They have a good way of knowing what is important to explain, and a good way of explaining what they present.In short, this is an excellent introductory text and also serves as a very good reference text for the most up-to-date thinking on the the modeling that underpins business analytics.

This is one of a handful of books on ML and R, and it’s by far the simplest in its coverage of content. For instance, it’s the only one I’ve looked at so far that has explained the difference between the Naive Bayes and Exact Bayes algorithms, although I haven’t looked at the Manning books on ML (e.g., Practical Data Science with R) some of which use R and some Python (e.g., Real-World Machine Learning). By a kindergarten approach to ML, I don’t mean to be disrespectful or to minimize the contribution of the book—presenting a topic at a simple basic level is worthwhile. The reasons I downgraded the book slightly were the large number of errors in the book (which look like material from previous editions that wasn’t caught) and some carelessness in what is presented. For some reason, in the chapter entitled “Overview of the Data Mining Process,” it bothered me a lot that the authors detail creation of dummy variables but don’t present factor variables until halfway through the book. Perhaps that was just the desire to present things at a basic level, however. I did learn some R functions I wasn’t familiar with from this book, and it does provide clear, explicit explanations of ML (or data mining) techniques. (For the life of me, I still don’t have a clear understanding of the differences between ML, data science, data analytics, and data mining—I suspect it is how the techniques and data are used that determines the difference, because the same techniques are used in all of these disciplines.) Hope this review was useful.

This book is very accessible for business professionals who want to develop their skills in data mining. I like how the "R" codes are presented and the ease in how it can be reproduced. Furthermore, each chapter is a stand-alone topic and does not generally require a sequenced order of reading from start to finish.

When I started this book I felt very clear of one thing: There is no way Mehmed, Radu, and Lada would make it all out alive.It was also obvious that Lada would not take kindly to being told how to rebuild HER Wallachia.I will say that my initial conviction was, in a way, true. But I won't spoil you (those will be below the jump).Bright We Burn was everything the ending to a complex, deeply woven fantasy should be. It also saw all the characters finally being true to themselves. Lada was always true to herself, but Radu denied himself certain things because he was blindsided by his love for Mehmed, and Mehmed, even though he awarded Wallachia to Lada, was not happy by the way she was ruling and was ready and willing to go to war, as it seemed the son of Murad was always in the mindset for.Early in the novel, we learn from some peasants about Prince Lada and how she is perceived -- and everyone in Wallachia, minus the boyars -- are starting to experience prosperity in the way Lada intended.This was extremely fulfilling, right from the beginning, to see that she was able to do what she set out to do. That her gut instincts were leading her people to a better tomorrow. And she was doing what no prince had done before, yet she was a WOMAN. Once again, the feminist tone could not possibly be ignored.It also sees Radu finally choose HIMSELF over Mehmed in so many ways, which was so incredibly refreshing. To me, he'd gotten a little annoying, but seeing him finally take a stand or some things was really satisfying.I gave this final installment 5 HEARTS because I felt it successfully wrapped up the story and each character's story line.Here's where it gets spoilery ...From the beginning of the book (and really the end of Now I Rise), Mehmed has requested an audience with Lada, which she denies by killing all the Janissaries Mehmed sent to deliver the message and escort her and sends them back in boxes. Next, when Lada is expecting a visit from Radu, she instead finds herself face to face with Kumal Pasha, who she has long harbored a grudge against, as she sees him as a wedge between her and Radu. So she murders him.All the while Radu is off in Bursa -- he has finally heard from someone that Nazira is there and that she is safe after only just escaping the fall of Constantinople to the Ottomans.After her actions, Mehmed and Radu have no choice but to fight Lada with the intent of reinstalling one of the Danesti brothers to the throne. While Lada's men and her clever trickery send him through a landscape of pitfalls and problems at every turn, seriously delaying their trip to Tirgoviste, they do eventually arrive to find the palace empty. Lada and her people -- all of them, soldiers, families, peasants, are all at the fortress in the mountain.But none of this happens before Lada, like a moth to a flame, finds Mehmed again and they sleep together. They negotiate the terms of a treaty, but Lada rethinks it and nearly kill Mehmed in the process -- and Radu nearly kills Lada.Not long after she and her people make it to the fortress, she is captured by Matthias, King of Hungary, who imprisons her and puts her nurse to work in the kitchen. Luckily, Stefan has been posing as a cleaning worker, and after nearly four months, she escapes, and discovers that she is with Mehmed's child -- though she couldn't been 100% sure until after she was born, since she was sleeping with Bogdan, too.Together, Radu eventually finds a way to end the war and install first, himself as prince, but then, eventually reinstating Lada. And when she gives birth, she gives the baby to Radu, Nazira, Fatima, and Cyprian, Radu's husband-to-be.I think the most satisfying part of this book was that Radu finally found love -- true love, not one-sided love.I do wish we got to see more of Lada's daughter as she was growing up. The prologue was too little, too fast for me.But despite that, I still give this novel 5 HEARTS!

“Without Radu to gently push her in new directions, she was turning into the most brutal version possible of herself.”The quote above is both the culmination and problem with Bright We Burn, Kiersten White’s final book in her trilogy about Vlad the Impaler (if Vlad were a girl named Lada).Lada has grown truly ruthless now, willing to kill thousands—and earn her nickname by displaying their bodies on stakes—to cement her claim to the throne of Wallachia and free it from vassalage to the Ottoman throne. This is in keeping with her character, but unfortunately so is the personal vendetta Lada wages at the same time against Mehmed, the Ottoman ruler. Their tortured love results in even more bloodshed and makes them both hard to like by the end.As a counterpoint, White presents Radu, Lada’s brother, as an example of what can happen when a smart, capable person seeks love instead of power. He doesn’t become a legend like Lada or achieve Mehmed’s lasting influence, but he also comes closer to finding peace than his childhood playmates. It’s a nice thought, and Radu is easily my favorite of the three. I wonder if he was White’s as well. At one point, when he finally reconciles being gay with being devout, she has him say this: “I believe that God is merciful and great and beyond our comprehension. And Nazira [Radu’s wife for appearance’s sake] always told me she feels closest to God when she feels love. I think she is right. In a way, love is the highest expression of faith—in ourselves, in others, in the world. I can expand my faith to allow myself happiness in this life, and trust in God’s love and mercy after this life.” I liked this thought too.Yet even though Radu gets nearly as many point-of-view chapters as his sister, the story revolves around her. Lada’s evolution from captive to rebel to ruler remains the draw, and it’s why I picked up the series in the first place—“A female Vlad the Impaler” is a heck of a tagline. So does it work? I thought so through the first two books, but I’m less sold after finishing the third. White tries to make Lada sympathetic by having her upend the Wallachian social structure, empowering peasants on the basis of merit rather than birth. I’m not sure how accurate this is. But if the real Vlad was in fact a populist, and the series was meant in part to suggest how he’s been misunderstood—and why he was willing to be so brutal—casting him as a woman complicates that narrative. Lada is ultimately fighting to take her place in a man’s world; her historical counterpart already had one.Bright We Burn also suffers from a weak ending, with the last several decades of Lada’s life crammed into a few chapters. But I’m still glad I finished it. White is a talented writer, and Lada a character worth following.I just wish I’d liked her as much as her brother.

This was an EXCELLENT end to an amazing trilogy of books. To be honest, it was also my favorite in the series. Lots of action, some twists and turns, and most importantly, the bittersweet conclusion of Radu's, Lada's and Mehmed's stories. The story closely follows Radu and Lada with Mehmed taking a backseat role, which was very appropriate for the story. Lada especially shines in this book, and she and Radu take center stage as both hero and villain alike. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I'll just reiterate that this book does the series justice and puts a very satisfying end to everything.

The third book in the And I Darken series, this continues to follow Lada and Radu, two siblings who were raised as captives and also companions of the future sultan in the Ottoman Empire. Spoilers ahead for those who haven't read the first two books - I highly suggest reading them first!The two choose very different paths after the first book and this book picks up with Lada on the Wallachian throne and Radu at the sultan's side, both dealing with the aftermath of difficult, brutal decisions they had to make in previous books. Both characters will have to ultimately decide who they want to be, whether they can change, and how much their love for each other does or doesn't mean.The whole series is incredible - one of my favorite historical fiction finds of all time. Highly highly recommended.

There are not enough positive words that I need to express my love for this trilogy. This is the third novel in this series and I have to say that I was not disappointed at all at how it ended. I'm just disappointed that it ended! There's so much history in this trilogy and it's amazing to finally put that history into a context that's relatable. The characters were amazing and their relationships were written well.
