About the Author
Andre Walker has received five Emmys for his work on The Oprah Winfrey Show. He has served as Ms. Winfrey's personal hairstylist for over a decade and her wardrobe consultant for over three years. "Andre Talks Hair" is an excellent resource for hair care. Andre starts his discussion with two "get to know your hair" chapters. From there, he gradually and simply "talks" good hair care from the perfect cut, to using chemicals to caring for gray hair (my issue), to dealing with hair that as been damaged,and of course, a chapter discussing how to take your hair into your own hands and doing the job yourself (which is where I am at this time). Yes, he does do a great job on coloring one's hair. It is not an "ethnic" haircare book. Every lady, regardless of her ethnicity, will find her hair in this book. A great read and a great price. Oh yes, the foreword by Oprah Winfrey is a great stamp of approval!Andre Talks Hair!
I almost missed this book because I thought it was primarily for African-American women. I learned that all the years of longing for my hair to look a certain way were wasted - because I'll never have that look without a lot of work every single day. Such a relief to learn I wasn't crazy - and a gift to get specific recommendations about how I could work with it successfully. And, if you have wiry or curly hair, this book is a MUST> I purchased this copy to give to a friend, and I'm sure she'll be thrilled as much as I am.

Images native and informative. Enjoyed learning about a subject I knew little about. Andre writes with a flair and brings hair alive.
Andre Talks Hair has given me many helpful tips for managing my hair. My hope is that he update the book, especially since the release of his Andre Walker Hair products and due to the time since publication.
This book was somewhat boring. He didnt go into details as I expected. When i got to the middle of the book, I just put it on the shelf. Such a waste.
