This book has been helpful with descriptions of exercises that can be done easily at home which have eliminated my lower back pain. It has taken a few months but progress was initially noted with better sleep. I am now able to bend over at the waist to pick up items on the floor and not be concerned about being able to stand up straight.

I found a copy of one of Peter Egoscue's books in the waiting room of a alternative health practitioner and evaluated it thoroughly before I that one from Amazon. I was looking for something to help my son who is having a bout of excruciating back pain that mostly radiates into his ankle. He's had the steroid shots and is doing better, but he wants to avoid further problems and perhaps eventualy surgery. I bought The Egoscue Method of Health Through Motion for him.I hope it will help him, I believe this one, also by Peter Egoscue will help me too, especially as I continue to build a habit of doing these extemely easy, no cost exercises to teach my body to re-alighn itself. Anyone can do it and this book also explains how much physical activity in childhood adds to strength and health in late adult life. Mr. Egosque says that older people have a better chance of recuperating using his techniques than younger ones who have been sedentary in childhood. He speaks of the bones, joints, ligaments, and also the organs which are dependent on physical activity from childhood on. I'd love to see mothers read it as well.

My wife is doing this exercise regimen and the results have been excellent with a reduction of chronic fatigue as well as pain. The movements are very gentle and do not require strength or stamina initially. It has been a life changer!

I first found Egoscue seven years ago when I was experiencing unrelenting pain in my ankle due to a car wreck that had crushed my heel. For ten years I'd lived with the pain -- until I started doing the Egoscue exercises. Within a week, the pain disappeared. Ten years of pain -- just up and disappeared. I was able to walk without lumbering, walk without wincing every step. As years progressed, I got sloppy and less commited to doing the exercices. As my body got more and more out of alignment, the ankle pain returned WITH excruciating hip pain. This pain was so bad that I couldn't get to the bathroom without lunging to the next piece of furniture, couldn't stand at the sink to grate a carrot. I was popping aspirin like they were m&m's. I went back to the book, did the hip menu and, within seventy-two hours the pain completely disappeared. Another couple of years passed, and I again got lazy and stopped doing the excercises. This time, it was the searing pain of sciatica that grounded me. This pain was so bad that I would scream out as I tried to pull myself out of the bed. This was evil pain that wouldn't go away. Lamenting to a friend (whom I had introduced to Egoscue!) about the pain I was in, I was surprised to hear that her husband had gone to the Egoscue clinic for the exact same sciatic pain. She shared his menu with me and -- I am almost embarrassed to say it -- the pain disappeared after just three days. And stayed away until I quit doing the exercises. (I am, if nothing else, an exceedingly slow learner.) Pete's program has brought me back from debilitating pain THREE separate times. I think I finally get it. The Egoscue method works when you work it. It has been a miracle cure for me three times. Yes, it takes a long time to do the menus. Yes, it's really boring to lie on the floor for that long. And yes, it's SO worth it to finally feel GOOD again. Anybody who complains that it's too much trouble or takes too long simply hasn't been in the kind of pain I've been in. But, when they are, this is a method that has never failed to fix what ails me.

In a nutshell, do more yoga. But the information early in the book about anatomy, the hows and whys we have the pain that we do, is very informative and interesting.

I great section for women of a certain age. As as woman still working physically hard, this book was a big help. Exercises are clear and simple and easy and seem to release long held tension and pain.

This book was a lifesaver for me! I use the exercises every day. I originally left a review on the Australian website, but want to post here as well.I highly recommend this book for anyone suffering chronic pain.

I am a nutritionist in NY (Alex). I read Candice's book one night! I was so excited to receive it when I got home. The book is beautiful inside and out. Candice's passion and love for her family, upbringing and country of her roots is so evident in the pages of this book. I will certainly need to re-read and place lots of stickies in the margins to come back to lessons I will need to remind myself of again and again. This is a true wellness book- yes it involves food/beautiful recipes (cannot wait to make matcha chocolate cookies and pancakes!), but it is more about how to be spiritually well, love yourself, find the beauty in other humans, and let go of what does not serve you. I am traveling to Japan soon and cannot wait to see it with more presence than I might have before- inspired by Candice. Could feel all the love that went into this book and it was so well written. Highly recommend!

After living in Japan for two years (and missing it greatly) and struggling to keep a calm, clear head at times, this book was soooooo refreshing to read! Having experienced the culture and then thinking about the simple phrases I'd hear on a daily basis and how it relates to general well-being was an association I hadn't truly made on my own. A great book for understanding this little known affliction. Recommend.

I found it very informative!

I have been a puller for almost 20 years, it is a confusing and debilitating disorder. I have prayed and prayed for God to deliver me from this, and just to be normal. I decided to give this book a try, and I just got through the first chapter, and am astounded at the insight to this disorder the author has, It has already given me a level of empowerment over this that I have never had before. This is definately a MUST HAVE for any and all trich sufferers!! I am looking forward to using all the tools available in the book to regain my life, hair and eyelashes!!!!

Book is very helpfull, while you read it it will assist you in identifying when the pulling takes place and the triggers. In the first 3 weeks I am pulling about 90% less just by being aware of it.

This is the BEST and most helpful book for Trichotillomania that I've seen so far. This book will help you understand your trichotillomania better than ever, which allows you to get it under control better and much faster. No matter what hair you pull, or how severe your trichotillomania is, I HIGHLY recommend this book! :)

This book was very informative for my research paper. It was also helpful in understanding what help my daughter needs with her hairpulling. I thought it covered all areas of interest.
