Jeremy L. Keough, MSOT, OTR/L, FAOTA, is currently a staff occupational therapist at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee. Jeremy earned his undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University and a post-professional master’s degree from Belmont University. His professional experiences include long-term care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, work hardening, acute care, and occupational therapy assistant education. Jeremy has served as the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director at Roane State Community College, during which he instructed the kinesiology course. Currently, Jeremy’s interests include neurorehabilitation approaches, dementia care, functional movement, and volunteering for youth baseball programs and community veterans organizations.  Susan J. Sain, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, is currently a faculty member and academic fieldwork coordinator at Roane State Community College in Tennessee. Susan earned her undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin at Madison along with a degree in Spanish. She later earned a master’s degree in Health Promotion/Health Education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Her professional experiences include adult and child psychology, skilled nursing, pediatrics in a variety of settings, early intervention, and academia. Susan served as the program director of the occupational therapy assistant program at Roane State Community College for 11 years and has been the academic fieldwork coordinator for 9 years. Susan has instructed the kinesiology course for more than 17 years. Susan has served in a variety of volunteer positions for state associations, including the American Occupational Therapy Association and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. She also works pro re nata (PRN) as a hand therapist in several clinics in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. This book was a disappointment because it appeared to be the publication of a course professor's notes and images. CRC Press does publish this type of book but it would enhance CRC Press's reputation if they were to require much more from author's who are trying to get their notes published in a book format. The text was brief and left the reader having to find other sources to fill in some of the gaps in knowledge. However, the worst part in my opinion was the images. Some of the images were too small and should have been enlarged to illustrate parts of the tissue or cells better. The illustrations on occasion lacked cohesion as they seemed to be drawings that had been computerized or stylized on the computer. The latter aspect is not a bad idea but one needs to make a reasonable linkage between the illustration or illustrations and text. I also expected that a Clinical Embryology text as this was purported to be would have much more clinical descriptions, connections and references. This was not the case. Sadly, I cannot recommend this text even for historical or simplicity reasons and I would suggest there are much better texts around even at the simpler and clinical level.

This book is a lighthearted accounting of what it was like to be taught by nuns. The stories are wise, clever, honest and heartwarming. They took me back to a time in my life when I thought everyone in the world would forever be larger than me, especially the nuns whose strict, stoic kindness and sometime weird teachings permeated my life. If you've ever wondered what happens at Catholic school, or just want to reflect back on simpler times, read this book. It will make you laugh, cry and nod your head in recognition as you gain a better understanding of the nuns in your past life.

I am sure that this book will give many readers a pleasant 'trip down memory lane.' The recollections of the contributors are fond and warm, which is a pleasant contrast with the current trends towards speaking ill of anything church-related. I found myself thinking of details of my own school life which I hadn't brought to mind in forty years, and smiling with recognition.Nonetheless, the repetitive, boring quality of the book made it tiresome rather quickly. I would suspect that a reunion of ten school mates (Catholic or otherwise) would lead to more insightful, varied, and hilarious memories than did this large collection. Perhaps the problem was compilation and editing. Since individual entries were very brief, they were terse rather than vivid, and undoubtedly some were divorced from a larger and more amusing or inspiring context. Certain subjects, such as corporal punishment, were unduly emphasised, where others (such as academics) were mentioned only in passing. The (puzzling) idea that all Sisters were old (understandable at age 6, I suppose, when the 'old one' may have been 30) was repeated to the point of being as stale as a week-old scone.I believe the book could have benefited from more expansion of topics. For example, though discipline is prevented in a positive light, religious Sisters could have explained that both those in administration and many parents placed such importance on 'controlling the class' that rote assignments and group punishments, unfortunate at the effect could be, were desperate attempts to keep a gang of kids quiet. Though some Sisters (probably a small minority) were as totally ignorant of sex as some of the anecdotes suggest, more often even those well grounded in the subject had to fear making the remotest reference to sex, lest a few vocal parents protest that all such teachings had to come from parents. (Even the liturgical calendar could be troublesome, considering some children might enquire as to what Circumcision or Virgin meant!)The effort is positive, and in that a refreshing break from anecdotes one may find elsewhere, where people give the impression that Catholic schools were places of abuse and psychological damage. I was glad to see many others being grateful for Catholic education. Still, the scope was small, repetition constant, and the tales too clipped to contain much wit, humour, or reflection.

This is a beautiful book. I reviewed it via the library and then purchased my own copy. The personal stories are wonderful and very interesting to read. I tend to read cookbooks for the history/stories as much as for the recipe content. I have made 2 batches of the basic de Leche - the taste and color are wonderful. I made them in 1/2 batches, using 1/2 gal. of milk and the appropriate measurements of the other ingredients each time, because I do not own a 12 qt. pot, only an 8 qt. and that was sufficient to accommodate the volume. There are a couple of issues that I became aware of during my cooking. 1. The book does not lay flat and must have some weighted object to keep it open. 2. If you live at altitude, make your cooking temperature adjustments for the boiling point. 3. Watch carefully your cooking time, it may not take the entire 1 hr. 45 min. to reach the desired doneness. My first batch reached the confectionairy stage before the total cooking time was reached - to solve this issue and make it the spreadable consistency I was seeking, I thinned it with some heavy cream. I gave some as a gift and have had rave reviews. I am excited to try some of the other recipes - especially the cheesecake.

I'm giving this 4 stars instead of three, just because the spirit in which the book was written is so sincere and loving. The author clearly loved and cherished her grandmother, as well as her Argentinian roots, and that clearly shows through the darling stories and comments. Although I haven't made any of the recipes -- and I'll update this with specific information once that happens, I wasn't able to give it a full 5 stars because of the lack of pictures. Hold on! I know some are saying, "Pictures needed in a cookbook, rubbish!" I'm firmly in the group that does NOT need photos in cookbooks. However, given that this is written for an American readership, it would have been nice to see at least some of the recipes that are unfamiliar outside of the Argentina or the Latin-American world. I know that photos add expense, and I get that this is a family business that does a lot for the community. Drawings, real drawings that replicate the dish, would have been a great substitute. Or, a middle sections with even a few photos - - maybe even a collage of photos.... I DO recommend this book if you're looking for a cookbook that's different from most of what's out there.

I love Dulce de Leche... so when I saw this book I had to check out the recipes. I was in for a surprise, because I learned a whole family story behind what makes this sweet treat so special to the life of the Argentine author. Her anecdotes were heartwarming... but the recipes take the cake. I imagined the book would be mostly dessert items, but it includes dishes for breakfast, afternoon tea, snacks, dinner and desserts. I like to see photos of recipes and was happy to find them on the author's Instagram: JosephineCaminosOria. In fact, I also learned that she sells an all natural Dulce de Leche online at her ladorita website. I have made the sweet potato ravioli, which were heavenly (although when I stacked them one on top of the other in my serving dish, they stuck together a bit upon cooling) and the carrot soufflé. My family loved the soufflé as a side dish. It was wonderful and I will definitely be making that again for a holiday meal. Wow, this book opened a new world of flavors for me. After hearing the author on NPR, my curiosity was peaked. I'd heard of Dulce de Leche, a local bakery makes some amazing DdL cookies, but I had no experience with homemade. After creating my first batch, I'm totally hooked! Just putting it in my coffee each morning is fantastic, and of course that's just the beginning, because Josephine gives you a whole cookbook full of uses from breakfast thru dinner and beyond. Is it worth it standing at the stove and stirring a pot for 2 hours? Yes, it is worth it!

WOW...I've made so many yummy recipes over the past six months since buying this book. Usually my cook books seem to get used once or twice then find themselves on a shelf living a lonely life never seeing the light of day. Not this book! I’m an Argentine who has been living in the States for more more than 15 years now, and this book is a taste of home for me and brought back so many childhood tastes and memories. It also includes recipes that incorporate new ways to use dulce de leche that are more tailored to the ways Americans eat here that I’ve enjoyed trying. Loved this book. I've enjoyed all the books in the Howard and friends series,. This one was full of romance, drama, and twists and turns. Both major characters (Zada and Giovanni) were intense and their chemistry was off the chart. Both had wrre strong will and confident in themselves and what they wanted. Tuff decisions had to made by each. I like how a woman can get into a man's heart and drive him to do the unthinkable .It was good catching up with the gang. The ladies are the most daring, confident , and trust worthy w/each other. I love that sister bond of theirs.Waiting for the next installment in this series .

Vivian Rose Lee never disappoints. I stumbled upon this author in 2015 while searching Amazon for books to read and boy am I ever glad that I did. I have read everything she has published to date. Giovanni and Zada story was fantastic!!! I read the book in a day and a half... couldn't put it down. So many natural emotions, and I must say half way through the book I was devastated (not going to give anything away), but I was redeemed. This book goes to show that with love anything is possible. I love Ms. Lee's writing style. She gets to the heart of the matter and let you know what is happening without having to read and read and without a lot of repetition. I am in awe of how she gets us to what is really taking place/happening without compromising the story line. Especially love how she keeps the bond and the storyline going with characters from her other books (David, Uri, Xander, Duke, and the gang, Etc.) . Sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book. Keep them coming Vivian Rose Lee.

The criminal that stole her heart is such a beautiful and heart wrenching story. Former FBI Agent in Charge and the former Cosa Nostra mob boss. Who would have figured there would be a beautiful love story here. Giovanni Othello Zannini never would have believed that a man as hard as he was trained to be could ever find love, let alone happiness. But he did. It was the silver eyes of FBI agent Zada Kinson that stole his heart, and the selfish mind of his uncle Nicolo that gave him the freedom he needed to get away from the mob life to embark on the journey of a regular Joe. The only thing he regretted was that Zada had to believe he was no more. But he would do anything to get his kitten back.Vivian wrote a very interesting and very attention keeping story that I just did not want to see end. The stprylne had plenty of plots changes and action that had me turning from page to page. I just loved the relationship between Zada and her twin sister Zuri. I just loved their father Tyson.He was a no nonsense kind of father. He did not care who you were, if you did something he did not like, you knew it. "Destined" told of a story of two unlikely people falling in love despite their polar opposite life styles. But, where there is a will there's a way. Their rode to love back together was rocky one but they made it to their HEA. They were Destined.

Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. It was definitely a page turner, it was fascinating to see the mob boss take the plunge and do the one thing that his father told him not to do and that was to fall in love because love made you vulnerable. Zada gave up her career to protect the "criminal" that protected her and that she fell in love with no matter how hard the both of them tried to fight it. I never saw that one coming because she was a bad FBI Agent and she loved her job, love conquers all. I love how we got to catch up with the family and how the families from the Heart, Brotherhood, and Found Love Series were tied into Zada and Giovanni's story. Another great read, never disappointed

Crazy how I just finished reading about David and Rocky from another author and than comes Gio and Zada!! I can't get enough of this circle and I loved everything about Gio and Zada's story, from the beginning to the end, I literally read slower just to prolong the pages from ending. lol Looking forward to seeing them appear in other books (hopefully) but the love Remy has for Zada has me swooning and it's been weeks since I've finished the book! Definitely one of the few books I've purchased that is worth rereading over and over!!

Once again Vivian Rose Lee did not disappoint. This book is filled with strong characters that hold you captive from the first few pages. The many twist and turns with intrigue make the reader talk out loud. I loved every page for many reasons. One is how expertly well it was written another is getting reacquainted with some older characters from her previous books. Ms. Lee is a mastery storyteller. If this is your first book of hers you are reading,I guarantee it won't be the last.

Vivian you did not disappoint. I loved Giovanni and Zada's story! It was AWESOME! I thought Zada should have done a "little" hurt to that director, but daddy took care of him. I could not put the story down. I tried to wait a couple of weeks until my vacation. But I just couldn't do it. Thank you for an awesome read!! However you were sooo wrong to leave us hanging ... Can't wait to read the next book coming!!

Once again Vivian has written another fantastic story. I enjoyed every single minute of Giovanni & Zara's story, a page turner for sure. Sorry to come to the end. Looking forward to the next of The Lovers Series., Hope it's not to long a wait. ☺Keep writing & I definitely keep reading.

Sometimes I get so excited I fail to fully read the descriptions and reviews so maybe its better for my sake that this came out to simply be the model ship parts and very simple paperback guide than the actual "ology" book. Yes it is from the "ology" series but the focus should really be on the fact that it's primarily a model ship to build, the facade of the book/container in this image is a little misleading for I thought it was the full on Pirateology book as well as the model set (so I thought I was getting a deal and 1-Click bought away!) Either way, the model looks awesome in my cubicle, all of my co-workers so far couldn't even tell it was cardboard. If your a collector of pirate paraphernalia like me then its a must in your collection, if only to proudly display the ship you assembled and the facade to adorn whatever space desire.

Very interesting, but once you get the model together NEVER TOUCH IT AGAIN! My 6 year old liked to pick it up and look at it and eventually the entire model fell apart. I love these Pirateology book though!

My husband and I ordered this for our 15 year old son for a Christmas gift ! It arrived fast and looks better then new ! We have bought a few of the Ologie books for are other 2 sons(13 and 18) and THEY LOVED THEM TOO ! I would recommend all of the Ologie books to parents of young or older children ! We even enjoy them as adults ! Will be buying more to complete our collection !!!

Bought this for my son and it was a neat surprise to have the model as part of the book. A little tricky for him to put together without assistance (age 9), but with a little help, we got it together.

I purchased several Pirateology books as a gift for my husband, who thinks he was a pirate in a past life (LOL)! They were terrific, fun & beautifully done.

My grandson and I have not tried to put the ship together yet but I think this is a great interactive book. I have purchased 3 of the Pirateology books now for him. I did a birthday party, when he was younger and wished I would have had these books to use at that time. We did a treasure map, hunt with clues, a pirate Piñata and they walked the plank.

i gave this book as a gift to an 8-year-old boy, and he was absolutely thrilled. He marched right upstairs and assembled the pirate ship model, then came back within the hour to show it to his mom and me. It's a book AND a toy combined!

Another pirate book that I purchased for my son as a gift. He loves anything and everything pirates and this is a welcome addition to his collection.
